Energuide Evaluations

As a Certified Energy Advisor through Natural Resources Canada, proposed house plans and specifications are used to create a software energy model for "New Homes". This energy model captures different components of a home such as insulation, windows and HVAC and how they impact energy efficiency.

Benchmark Modeling

Current house plans, specs and building practices are applied to create a "benchmark" model for energy efficiency. This model is used to create new energy models based on proposed changes and available energy upgrades. Comparisons are made with respect to energy efficiency and cost optimization.

Pre-drywall Inspection

Pre-drywall inspection allows for opportunity to improve building practices and minimize air leakage.Blower door test is used to eliminate the guesswork regarding air leakage. Identify common leakage areas around openings such as attic access, receptacles, doors and windows using a smoke generating device.

Blower Door Testing

Blower door test is used to assess "air tightness" of a modeled unit. Data result is measured in "air changes per hour" which then becomes part of the energy model and "leakage profile" for the home. Part of blower door test may also include the use of smoke generating device to identify existing leakage areas.
