Provincial Energy Efficiency Rebate Program to end on March 31, 2012

On behalf of C3 and the Government of Alberta I’m writing to confirm the Provincial Energy Efficiency Rebate Program will be coming to its prescribed end on March 31, 2012.
Albertans interested in receiving provincial new home rebates under the program should note the following deadlines:
 Applicants must receive an EnerGuide label on or before March 31, 2012 and a certificate of possession on or before April 30, 2012. Applications and documentation must be submitted to C3 online or be postmarked on or before April 30, 2012.
Provincial new home rebates include:
 $1,500 for new homes with an EnerGuide rating of 80 or 81
 $3,000 for new homes with an EnerGuide rating of 82 to 85
 $10,000 for new homes that meet or exceed EnerGuide 86
Since March 2009, more than 152,000 rebates worth approximately $40 million have been issued to Albertans who have invested in energy efficient upgrades and new homes. These purchases resulted in the equivalent of 301,800 cars being taken off the road for a year.
Thank you for participating in the program and helping to notify customers of its upcoming deadlines. For further information, or to apply, please direct customers to our website: www.C-3.ca or have them call 1-888-537-7202.
Best regards,

Building a Greener Future

Canadians want to see progress in addressing important  environmental issues such as climate change, air quality and protection of our natural resources. The good news for all Albertans who take possession of a new EnerGuide labelled single-family or multi-family row home (excluding stacked multi-family construction) on or after January 1, 2009 are eligible for one of the following rebates:

  • $1,500 for new homes that meet or exceed EnerGuide 80
  • $3,000 for new homes that meet or exceed EnerGuide 82
  • $10,000 for new homes that meet or exceed  EnerGuide 86

To be eligible for the rebate, the new home must be purchased and occupied for non-commercial use in Alberta. You will also need to have received your Energuide file number and label prior to submitting your application.
